The Contextual Clipper Special Edition: Unplugged State of Mind, AWNY 2025
This article was originally published in The Contextual Clipper, our on-site newspaper for Unplugged State of Mind, a three-day activation during Advertising Week 2025. It captures the story of Strangers No More moving into a new home at The Box on October 7, 2025 — a venue as bold and unconventional as the community itself. The piece was authored by our warm-hearted correspondent, Eleanor “Bubblegum” Trunkwell, the pink elephant who always keeps the circle alive. The audio edition is read by Sarah Leinberger, VP, Head of Marketing at Yoobi.

It seems one cannot fit the ordinary in a box and Unplugged Collective has never been ordinary. Yet this newsroom has confirmed that, for this edition, Strangers No More will indeed unfold within The Box. A bold move, some say. A perfect fit, whisper others. This newsroom prefers to call it inevitable.

For though the series was born at The Stranger — a venue that gifted us our very first moments of magic — its spirit was never bound to a single set of walls. The Stranger gave us a stage where strangers became friends, where community took its first breath, and for that it will forever remain our cherished birthplace.
Now the story continues inside The Box, a space where intrigue lingers in every corner and vantage points abound. One cannot help but note the irony: to think outside the box, sometimes you must first step inside.
“As we continue to grow ,it’s important that each space we enter still feels like us,” said Erica Fieldman, Co-Founder of Unplugged Collective. “The Stranger will always hold a special place in our history, but The Box gives us the chance to build on that legacy in bold new ways.”

And build, they will. Guests will carry forward the legacy of The Stranger, weaving new friendships and fresh tales into the ever-growing tapestry of Strangers No More. Because whether in a loft, a club, or yes, even a box — Unplugged has proven one thing beyond doubt: wherever they gather, strangers become friends, and the night is anything but ordinary.
